We quite often have trainee coaches complete some or all of their practical coaching hours with us and we are very happy to continue to do this. It is a great way for you to finish your hours and course requirements in order to become qualified but it is also a fantastic opportunity for you to show us how you can take lessons and why we need to have you as part of our Surf Crew.

To become part of our Crew, you need to have the following attributes and personality traits.

• Enjoyment of working with people
• A love for face to face interaction with people
• Positive, friendly, encouraging and patient nature
• Experienced surfing skills & ocean knowledge
• Fit, healthy & enjoy working in the water in all kinds of weather conditions
• Commitment to ensure the ultimate safe surfing experience for our customers
• Strong work ethic
• Excellent communication, interpersonal & presentation skills
• Demonstrated initiative, creativity, drive & enthusiasm
• Teaching or instructing experience advantageous, but not essential
• Hold the required qualifications for a minimum of a Level 1 Surf Coach
• Prepared to work flexible / rotating shifts
• Have your own ABN number

Getting the Qualifications to be a Surf Instructor or Lifeguard

Don't stress if you are keen to get into the Surf Industry either as a Surf Instructor, a Surf Life Guard or Life Saver or just want to upskill in these areas.
