Applications are sought for a traineeship with Walkin' On Water Surf School within the Surfing Industry through the College of Surfing.
The successful applicant will work towards, and when successfully completed, receive their
- Certificate III in Outdoor Recreation
- Be a Qualified Surf Instructor and Surfing Guide
The Trainee will be leading the way in surf education, be undertaking a $6500 course at no cost to themselves plus get paid throughout the duration of the course with permanent part time employment at the surf school. The successful applicant may also be involved in and spend time working with The Academy of Surf. This will allow the Trainee to see a different side of the Surf Industry - the training and up skilling of people in Surf Life Saving Qualifications. This will increase the exposure of the Trainee to a much greater scope than purely the surf instructing and surf school side of operations.
It may also lead to a long term position within Walkin’ On Water or the Academy of Surf.
Applicants should ideally
- be self motivated
- be willing to learn and excel in the surf industry
- be friendly, happy and open with a great personable manner and easy going personality who is able to work in the service industry
- be in Year 10 or 11 at school
- not already hold a Certificate III or higher in any field
- be willing to work weekends
